You may recently have paid someone to “improve” your ranking in search engines — for “SEO Services” or Search Engine Optimization. If I invited you to this page, your website may be listed below.

I say “listed” rather than “linked” because none of these postings succeeded. They were done by not-very-creative person, who was paid today for failure. You already have your revenge, though! That “SEO” company pulled a fast one on you, but their employees did much worse to them!

I recently joined a LinkedIn group for Startup Weekend. I was astonished to see the posts dominated by spams and scams, so I posted a note to the Group Moderators: “Startup Weekend” is quickly being overtaken by (obviously) scam promotions, posted by (likely) bogus profiles.

Dell Warranty Spam

Over the years, my companies have bought dozens of servers, workstations, and related devices from Dell. Those machines have worked quite well. We ran them hard for years, around the clock. We eventually gave most of them to a friend who repurposes the big boxes for a church network, and the small boxes for kids who can’t afford (but need) a way to do schoolwork online.

I’ve never needed or purchased (or regretted the lack of) any extended warranty.

After being such a great customer, can Dell really not excuse me from their infernal maintenance upselling spam campaign?
